About Tarkashi Crafts
We are a small team of passionate artisans dedicated to preserving the rare and beautiful art of Tarkashi – a traditional Indian craft of brass inlay on wood. Each creation is a reflection of our heritage, handcrafted with patience, precision, and purpose.
What is Tarkashi Crafts?
"Tarkashi" is a craft which is being practiced since ancient times in the Central part of India and the kings in old times used to give the gifts of this work to the guests. The Tarkashi is the work of finest brass inlay techniques in the traditional sheesham wood and the combination of wood and brass graces many as shelf and mantel piece as well as serve as functional uses. Brass wire is inlaid in Sheesham wood by hammer and then the wood is polished with the help of spirits to give the desired look. In this craft, the pictures concerning to mythology central table, boxes etc. are prepared which have great demand all over the world.
